Q. Is your service free?


Yes! There is no charge for any of our services.

Q. I am over 25 can you still help me?


We do not turn anyone away and we will help you access the appropriate service for you.

Q. Can I talk to you in confidence?


You can speak to us about any problems and/or issues you may be experiencing. However, if you tell us anything that puts you or anyone else at risk, we might have to share this information. We would always talk to you about this first.

Q. I need help budgeting, can you help me?


Yes we can, our youth workers can work through a budget plan with you.

Q. Can you help me find a job?


We can support you in searching for employment, writing your C.V. and also with interview skills.

Once a month a representative from the  local Job Centre offers a regular session at the Basement Project.

Steve is an Employment Adviser with extensive knowledge of the area, employment opportunities and the latest vacancies available.

Q. Can you find me somewhere to live?


We can help you get in touch and register with the local housing authority and other agencies that can provide housing. If you would like us to we will also accompany you to housing meetings.

Q. Can you help me with debts?


We are able to help you contact debt companies and negotiate re-payment plans.

Q. Can you help me claim the right benefits?


We can help you apply for benefits and also make sure you are receiving the correct benefit and amounts.

Q. Do I need to make an appointment?


Appointments are available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please call to book.

You can also Drop-in Monday - Friday 12 -4pm and Wednesday 5-7pm.

These times are subject to change so please check our social media sites or front door for any changes.

Q. What does the basement do?


The Basement works with people between the ages of 16-25 and can help with a variety of issues, including homelessness; housing issues; money/debt issues and personal development. We also provide mediation, counselling, hypnotherapy, advocacy, and workshops.

We can help with lots of issues just drop in to see us and you will be able to talk to a friendly fully trained member of our team.
